Workshop Coordination and Assembly
Production in Shipyard Overseer is split across specialized workshops. One station might fabricate hull sections while another prepares propulsion units. Your job is to assign tasks to each workshop and keep materials flowing so that no station sits idle. Once every required component is finished, you combine them into a complete vessel. That loop—part creation followed by final assembly—drives everything else in the game.
Fleet Growth and Ongoing Returns
Each completed boat joins your personal collection and begins contributing ongoing returns. As your fleet expands, you decide which ship types to prioritize, balancing the demand for different components. Watching your lineup grow from a single small craft into a diverse range of designs gives a clear sense of accumulation. The collection itself becomes a long-term goal, not just a side effect of production.
Upgrades and Blueprint Unlocks
Earnings from finished vessels can be reinvested into your workshops. Upgrading a production area cuts the time needed to craft its specific part, and some upgrades unlock new blueprints. These blueprints introduce more advanced ship designs that require a mix of components, adding variety to the assembly process. Choosing which upgrades to pursue first directly shapes how quickly your shipyard expands.
Idle Progression and Visual Customization
Workshops continue working even when the application is closed, accumulating parts and returns in the background. This suits players who prefer checking in periodically rather than managing every detail in real time. Before launching a newly assembled vessel, you can adjust its appearance. While the core function stays the same, these visual choices add a creative layer and make your fleet feel distinct from another player's.
